🛠️ Step-by-Step Process
1. **Prep Your Surface**
Clean your countertops thoroughly and tape off any edges — especially around the sink and cabinets. Make sure everything is protected before beginning.
2. **Apply White Base Paint**
Using the included brush and roller, apply two even coats of the white base paint provided in the kit. Let each coat dry completely.
3. **Add Gray Veining**
This is the most artistic part, but don’t worry — it’s easier than it looks! Use the small brush to paint on natural-looking gray veins. Blot and feather the veining using a sponge and spritz of water to mimic real marble.
4. **Mix & Apply Epoxy Resin**
Mix the two epoxy components thoroughly for 3.5 minutes, then pour and roll it out evenly across the countertop. Use the brush to seal around backsplashes. Be generous with product for a smooth, glass-like finish.
🧽 How It’s Holding Up 2.5 Years Later
These countertops have hosted guests, food prep, and more — and I’m thrilled with their durability. The epoxy surface holds up against coffee, juice, and even heat. Yes, it has a few small nicks near high-traffic areas, but overall, I’d give it an 8/10 for durability.
It wipes clean easily, doesn’t stain, and has remained glossy. There was no strong smell from the epoxy kit either, making this a great option for indoor DIYers.
